Description:

The Leave Consultant will oversee and be responsible for the administration of employee leave programs in collaboration with third-party vendors. This role involves managing vendor relationships, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and company policies, and providing support to employees regarding their leave entitlements in the United States and Canada.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the implementation and administration of employee leave programs, including short-term disability, long-term disability, family medical leave, and other leave types, in partnership with third-party vendors.
  • Design and implement streamlined, automated (as much as possible) leave processes that interface with internal stakeholders, team and external vendor.
  • Develop process to monitor leave regulatory landscape.
  • Lead implementation processes for new leave laws at federal and state level along with new company leaves.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for leave vendors, ensuring they meet service level agreements and compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and internal stakeholders to streamline leave processes and improve employee experience.
  • Monitor vendor performance and address any issues or discrepancies in service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local leave regulations, including FMLA and ADA, while working closely with legal and HR teams.
  • Prepare reports for management on leave utilization, vendor performance, and compliance metrics.

Requirements:

  • Expert level leave of absence knowledge in all states.
  • Proven experience in leave management, particularly with third-party vendors.
  • Proven experience in vendor implementations and process design.
  • Experience with leave program implementations.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and service contracts.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
  • Strong, strategic project resource that can lead the implementation of a new leave administration vendor.
  • Strong expertise in the most current relevant leave laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, ADA, STD, LTD, USERRA) and industry best practices.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with a focus on customer service.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and leave management software.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of progressive experience in leave administration.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certification in leave management such as CLMS or CPDM.

Compensation: $75 to $90 per hour D.O.E.
